How safe do you need to be when driving in the rain? It could literally be a matter of life and death. You need to travel on wet roads with a different set of rules than when the roads are dry.

You should try to drive slower when out on wet roads. You may believe that this is among the most obvious solutions that a person could offer, but it also happens to be the truth. The slower you go, the less likely you are to have to slam on your brakes.

Puddles of water can build up on the roads after a heavy rain. Avoid those puddles with your life. They are dangerous on your tires and could result in a spin-out.

Finally, leave extra room between yourself and the driver in front of you. The importance of this is that you again don't necessarily have to slam on the brakes.
